I live in Denmark WA with my husband where we, manage Celestine Retreat, comprising of 4 luxury spa Chalets on 30 acres with spectacular views over the Southern Ocean and Wilson Inlet. As part of this role, I feel it is important to be as informed as possible with all things Tourism including, wineries, restaurants, cafes, coffee, food and natural beauty. All of my favourite things!

Denmark Food & Wine Trail
The trail has been developed with the co-operation of Tourism WA, Trails WA, Denmark Chamber of Commerce and a cluster of 8 businesses. The app is a free download from Trails WA.
Denmark Dozen Wine offer, experience the trail and receive 10% discount off your purchases from participating wineries, grab an empty carton from your first stop and take it with you to add your bottles of wine. If you require postage ask for the cost at the last winery and they will take care of your carton for you.
Mrs Jones Café – Trail Member
Mrs Jones Café describes themselves as “Retro Smooth”
We totally agree smooth coffee, to go with breakfast, mid-morning tasty treat, lunch or afternoon pick me up, we had it all! Or if you prefer a glass of Great Southern Wine together with the seasonal menu offerings in a gorgeous setting this is the place for you.

Rockcliffe Winery – Trail Member
Enjoy this beautiful setting, overlooking the vineyard, karri forest and lawn areas.
Check out Rockcliffe Winery for their program of events over the Summer months which include live music, outdoor movies and fresh produce markets on their website.
Their cellar door is open 7 days, 11am to 5pm a week for wine tasting and Artisan Gelato

Singlefile Wines- Trail Member – Indulge in chocolate and wine pairing
Singlefile has an impressive line-up of fine wines for you to taste and experience in their welcoming tasting room, open 7 days a week from 11am to 5pm. During the cooler months enjoy relaxing the Chesterfield chairs by the roaring fire and bring your own picnic.

The Lakehouse Denmark – Trail Member
The Lakehouse Denmark offers wine tasting in quite a spectacular Cellar Door as well as tasting of their Vino Foods and has an award-winning restaurant. Set around a lake and beautiful gardens it is a perfect spot to indulge for morning tea, linger for lunch or enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.

Pawprint Chocolate – Trail Member
Pawprint Chocolate’s motto is “Experience handmade chocolate” with their focus on “primarily Australian grown products to create their flavour profiles” Local wines are used in Pawprint’s handmade truffle range.

Boston Brewing Co and Willoughby Park -Trail member
Open 7 days a week. Boston Brewing Co is now canning their hand-crafted beers with the range of beers carry names from the Great Southern Region. My favourite is their Tingletop Ginger Beer. This family run business caters for beer lovers, wine lover and is family friendly. Their menu is seasonal and has something for everyone and a magnificent playground for the kids.

Busy Blue Bus Tours + Charters – Trail Member
Busy Blue Bus operates a Hop on Hop service from 2018 for selected weekends. Let them be your driver for the day! Check out their tours on the website, I have had the opportunity to experience one of Busy Blue Bus’s wine tours (another blog to come) I can highly recommend their tours.

Stomp’d Wine Bar
Stomp’d is Denmark’s newest wine bar, situated in Fig Tree Square, opposite the Denmark Bakery, is serving local Great Southern wines, coupled with delightful share dishes. The menu changes daily. Fabulous wine, fabulous food, fabulous grown up hang out! This Wine Bar is proving popular and definitely a must do! Is open Mon to Friday 4pm till late Sat open 5pm till late.

Wholly Local is located next to Ravens on South Coast Hwy and is open 7 days a week. Recently opened it is stocked with produce from within a 100km range, from raw unprocessed honey, jams & preserves, Kirby’s Catering and Gourmet range, olive oil, eggs, artisanal breads and a whole lot more. For your arrival why not order a picnic or breakfast hamper?
Local Harvest
Local Harvest can deliver boxes of fresh vegetables, fruit and other locally made produce on the weekends. If you are planning a trip to Denmark check out their website. Orders by 9pm Wednesdays. Local Harvest is also at the local markets throughout the year.
