d’Arenberg 2014 ‘The Derelict Vineyard’ Grenache
How does a glass of Grenache with a soft-centred chocolate pudding sound?
Drooool….
This bottle of d’Arenberg’s 2014 ‘The Derelict Vineyard’ Grenache from SA’s McLaren Vale is part of Wine Selectors 2019 Chef & The Cellar Calendar Case (12 months + 12 wines + 12 recipes). It’s the May wine match for Chef Peter Reschke’s Soft Centered Choc Pudding with d’Ary’s Derelict Gel. Anyone keen?
I am definitely going to try this recipe. However in the meantime, here’s what I thought of the wine…
Pretty garnet shade in the glass with a nose full of rich black fruits and savouriness (think mushrooms & black olives) while in the mouth it’s full of juicy red & blackberries with a generous sprinkling of spice. More please!
Thank you for this juicy sample Wine Selectors!
