Cumulus Vineyards ALTE 2019 Chardonnay
Cumulus Vineyards in Orange, NSW have released a new wine range this year – ALTE.
This range is all about wines made from grape vines grown at high-altitudes. The Cumulus Vines are 25 years old and sit at a cool 600 metres above sea level. At a high altitude grapevines are kept cool while getting plenty of sunshine – ideal for growing premium grapes.
We recently received this sample of the 2019 ALTE Chardonnay (thank you!) and boy did it go down well in this Chardy loving household. It retails for $23 at independent retailers (check the Cumulus website for details).
In the glass it’s a pale yellow. On the nose it’s nicely oaked and buttery with vanilla infused stone fruit. On the palate it’s downright yummy, it’s juicy, fruity and creamy. All the good things you want in a Chardonnay.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
