Mr Spittoon and I had a little celebration this week. However I do strongly believe that Champagne isn’t just for celebrations. It’s for whenever the mood strikes (and bank balance allows it).
Pol Roger was one of the first French champagnes I tried when I was 18 and I fell in love instantly. I spotted this 2008 vintage at Dan Murphy’s for $115 and couldn’t resist. Here’s what I thought…
It’s a very pale golden hue in the glass. The nose has an abundance of grapefruit citrus, fresh herbs and milk arrowroot biscuits. While in the mouth it’s ultra smooth and silky with refreshing orange citrus and tasty pineapple flavours coming through. YUM!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine
