Wills Domain Blanc de Blanc Cuvée d’Elevage
Next time you need a bubbly, I have one for you! Bookmark this post and add it to your must-drink list stat.
This new release Blanc de Blanc Cuvée d’Elevage comes from Wills Domain Winery in Margaret River (Western Australia). A big thanks to the Wills Domain team for sending us this sample.
Now what’s really interesting about this sparkly bottle of joy is that it’s made from the Scheurebe grape. Say what??
The Scheurebe grape (pronounced Shoy-ray-bay) is a German variety which is a crossing of Riesling and Bouquet Blanc. It’s named after its creator Dr. Scheu and Wills Domain is the only winery in Australia which produces it.

So what did we think of this unique bubbles?
Here’s our notes:
In the glass it’s a pretty yellow diamond shade in glass. On the nose think citrus fruits, florals and nuts. While in the mouth it’s a bit biscuity, with a drizzle of passionfruit and a nice lime-y acidic finish. Very moreish and flavoursome.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
