Even without a flashy label, this wine had me at first whiff.
The grapes come from vines planted in the 1960s. And this baby has been given a 95 point rating in the recent Halliday Wine Companion and with a cellar age up to 2040.
We found it a luscious deep plum purple red colour in the glass. It’s super aromatic with whiffs of baking spice, black fruits and cedar wood. In the mouth it’s juicy and plump yet delicate and sophisticated. Spicy yet fruity. And incredibly moreish.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
