Jacobs Creek 2006 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

My last tasting note was for the Jacobs Creek 2007 Reserve Shiraz which we tried alongside this 2006 Jacob’s Creek Reserve Cab Sauv and I have to say I’m impressed with how they have both developed over the last 13-14 years.

This 06 Cab is the colour of black doris plums in the glass while the nose is big and bold. There’s lots of fruit, chocolate and some savouriness in there too. While in the mouth it’s still quite fresh with decent tannins. There’s flavours of dark chocolate and a hint of marzipan mixed with fruits. Drinking fantastically however it may still go a few more years.
