Hunter’s Dream 2018 Shiraz – Hunter Valley
I must admit, I love pulling out the corkscrew. It seems to be so far and few between uses these days. There’s just something romantic about hearing that cork pop don’t you think?
This cork-closed beauty we received as a free gift from the lovely folks at Hunter’s Dream in NSW’s Hunter Valley wine region. Thank you.
We poured this 2018 Shiraz into the decanter (this one is a Riedel glass one) to enjoy as we watched the latest episode of Snowpiercer on Netflix.
It’s a deep plum purple-red colour in the glass. On the nose it made me think of Christmas – almond icing, stewed berries and spice. Those juicy berry fruits flow through to the palate with a zip of spice and an ultra smooth mouthfeel. Very yummy and definitely a ‘first class’ wine if it was to be served on Snowpiercer.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
