Dorrien Estate Cuvee Shiraz NV
This was the first wine we cracked into after getting back to Australia last week. Are you a fan of Aussie Sparkling Red?
In order to avoid the post-holiday blues, I thought a bottle of this and a face mask would help. Plus how cool is this red wine antioxidant face mask I found at Watsons in Bangkok? I’m glad I bought a couple now.
Moving on to the wine. A big thanks to Cellarmasters for this sample bottle of the Dorrien Estate NV (non-vintage) Cuvée Shiraz. The more I drink sparkling red, the more I like it and the more I feel I’m turning into an Aussie! Because it’s a chillable Red it’d be quite the perfect wine for Australia Day actually.
It sells for $19.50 via cellarmasters.com.au and comes from Tanuda in South Australia.
In the glass, it’s a deliciously bubbly magenta red. On the nose, it has a bit of spice to it however it makes me think of berry sorbet. In the mouth, it’s juicy, smooth and incredibly moreish with a yummy taste that hangs around well after you swallow. I’d definitely drink this again especially teamed with a bbq lunch.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
