3drops Blanc de Noir 2017
I have been hanging out to try this brand new Western Australian made sparkling wine for so long now!
If you haven’t already heard, this is 3drops first ever sparkling wine. The 3drops Blanc de Noir 2017 is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the 2017 vintage. It’s made in the traditional method which means it’s made the same way as champagne is (there are various ways you can make sparkling wines).
If you’re not familiar with 3drops, they are a boutique producer from the Great Southern wine region who produce a range of red, white, rose and now sparkling wines which you can purchase through their website 3drops.com
I recently chatted to Jo, the owner of 3drops who was telling me for the label, they actually had a model pose with a rake to create the stunning image on the bottle. The lady represents ‘femme du monde’ aka the woman of the world.
I really enjoyed this bubbles from its slightly peachy-yellow tone in the glass to its aromas of orange sherbet, fresh strawberries and flaky pastry. In the mouth, it has a wonderfully silky mouthfeel with decent body and length. It’s elegant and beautiful, just like the 3drops brand.
Thank you Jo, for sending over this sample for us to try – Mr Spittoon and I sipped up every last drop 🙂
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
