3drops 2018 Great Southern Cabernet Franc
100% Cabernet Franc is what this brand new release from 3drops wine and olive oil is made of and we were lucky enough to taste it prior to its official launch party in Perth at the end of September 2019.
A big thanks to Jo for sending this bottle over to us, we were so excited to try the new addition to the 3drops family!
Mr Spittoon and I thoroughly enjoyed sipping our way through this bottle. Here are our notes:
It’s a deep mulberry red colour in the glass. On the nose it made me think of warm berry fruits, with a nice bite of spice, and some melt in your mouth dark chocolate. While in the mouth it has a nice abundance of juicy red fruits (think plum and raspberry), a hint of smoke and cedar and a wonderfully integrated tannic kick. We also really loved the smooth texture!
A delicious wine and well priced at $26 a bottle (you can buy it online via 3drops.com).
