The 25 Swan Valley Sparkling Wines of Christmas 2014 – 17th December
Chapel Farm Sparkling White
This is the second Chapel Farm wine to make an appearence in The 25 Swan Valley Sparkling Wines of Christmas, the previous one was the Chapel Farm Sparkling Rose on the 6th of December.
This bubbles is typically what I order when I go for a meal at The Tap, it goes down so well with almost any food from the pizza to the tapas and I have even drank it quite happily with dessert! As mentioned in the Rose post, the sparklings for Chapel Farm are made by Garbin Estate who are specialists in producing sparkling wine.
This sparkling white is made from 100% locally grown Chenin Blanc grapes and sells for $27 at The Tap per bottle or $9 a glass.
Tasting Note
On the eye it looks like a stunning yellow diamond. On the nose it has a lovely pretty floral perfume and on the palate it is oh so smooth and silky with delicious flavours of passionfruit, pear and strangely enough I was picking up notes of prunes too. A lot of friends who have tried this think it smells and tastes a lot more expensive than it is. So perhaps taking that special someone out for a meal at The Tap, accompained by a bottle or two of this bubbles would make the perfect Christmas gift!
Christmas special
If you’re looking for someone else to cook and clean for you, then you should make a booking at The Tap Christmas Lunch Buffet. They’ll have all your favourite Xmas foods from ham, turkey, beef to fresh prawns, Christmas pudding and Pavlova! Tickets cost $95 for adults and children are between $20-45 you can find out all the details and how to book here. – I have heard this has now sold out, sorry folks!
However Chapel Farm also offer gift vouchers which would make a great stocking stuffer if I do say so myself.
About Chapel Farm
The Chapel Farm property has quite a history dating back about 100 years when an Irish family first called it home and named it Chapel Farm. In 2000 Darren Walker took over the property and turned it into a one-of-a-kind venue in the swan Valley.
Chapel Farm are well-known for putting on amazing events and weddings in the Swan Valley. But they also have some fantastic accommodation options and my favourite of course is the wine, beer and cocktail bar, The Tap. I love heading out to the The Tap for a meal and a few drinks as the service is always top-notch, the food and drinks are absolutely mouth-watering and I just love the quirky interior and exterior design. Plus the ultra sexy toilets which are actually built inside a water tank are just AWESOME!
