Taltarni Vineyards 2017 Old Vine Estate Shiraz
96 Points in the 2020 Halliday Wine Companion, Gold Medal at the 2019 Royal Adelaide Wine Show and a Gold Medal at the 2019 Rutherglen Wine Show are just some of the accolades this Taltarni Vineyards 2017 Old Vine Estate Shiraz has received Wow!
A big thank you to Taltarni for sending over this free gift. Mr Spittoon and I cracked it once the little one was in bed.
The vines from which this Shiraz come from where planted in the 1960s – so you’re looking at 50-60 year old grape vines. Prior to release this wine spent 18 months in French oak.
We found it a pretty garnet shade in the glass with juicy black currant, black cherries and pepper spice on the nose. In the mouth it’s super smooth with juicy plump fruit and a spicy bite on the finish. Mr Spittoon and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
