Riddoch 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Wow I just had 3 AFDs (alcohol free days) in a row. I think I needed the recovery time after my parents visit. I got back on the bandwagon last night though to celebrate #winewednesday of course.
I recently received this sample of the Riddoch 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot from Coonawarra to taste. It’s $20 from Dan Murphy’s and BWS and comes in a lovely plywood round box – perfect for a gift!
John Riddoch is regarded as one of the fathers of Australian wine after he set out in search of gold in 1891 but thankfully for us, he found the rich Terra Rossa soil of Coonawarra – perfect for wine grape growing!
Mr. Spittoon and I cracked this last night while watching George Clooney in Tomorrowland (it’s a good watch by the way!). From the wines opaque red satin colour to scents of warm fruits and sweet vanilla spice, it went down very easily with its soft palate of juicy black fruits covered in chocolate.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
