Pooley Wines 2017 Butcher’s Hill Chardonnay – Tasmania
We recently cracked into a few of our Tassie wine purchases. This Pooley Wines 2017 Butchers Hill Chardonnay I fell in love with at the cellar door. By the way, the customer service was fantastic at Pooley. I also liked how Pooley and so many cellar doors have stools at the tasting bench, so you’re invited to sit, relax and really enjoy the wines.
We bought this one for $65 (yikes I know, a bit steep but Mr Spittoon and I are quite happy to part with our cash for good Chardy and Champagne especially).
Here’s the notes I jotted down as I thoroughly enjoyed sipping my way through the bottle:
It’s a gorgeous sun shine yellow colour in the glass. The nose is big, bold and oaky with mixed spice cream and fresh peaches with a sprinkling of nuts. While in the mouth it’s full of fresh fruit and zippy acidity with a nice big Chardy back bone YUM!!
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
