Petaluma 2019 Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay
New Release Chardonnay!
I was lucky enough to receive a sample of the 2020 New Release Yellow Label wines pack from Petaluma recently (thank you!!) and it’s safe to say this Chardy was very much enjoyed on our deck one evening this week.
Petaluma was founded in 1976 in South Australia’s Adelaide Hills region. This is the coolest viticultural region in the state.
They suggest pairing this 2019 Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay with white meats and seafood. It’s drinking beautifully now but will also cellar well over the next 10 years.
We found it a pale golden shade in the glass. Yellow stonefruit dominate the nose with hints of buttered popcorn, honeydew melon and white flowers. While in the mouth it’s smooth and creamy with sweet vanilla, juicy nectarine and elegant grapefruit acidity in the back. Divine!
Available vis petaluma.com.au or Dan Murphy’s for $54 a bottle.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
