Why you NEED to go to UnWined Subiaco 2016!
Okay I admit it, I am an UnWined Subiaco groupie. I absolutely love this festival because every year I have an absolute blast. Between trying a ton of new wines, munching on amazing food and free wine tasting classes – it’s a vino lovers piece of paradise! I think I may just be the most excited I have ever been in the lead up to this Perth wine festival too. Why you ask? Read on fellow winos…
Firstly I will be giving away tickets to this festival in a few weeks time on the blog, so make sure you subscribe to my email blasts to be the first to find out how to enter!
Let’s get straight to the point… what’s new at UnWined this year?
Better Tasting Glasses
I know a few of you still are suspicious that the type and style of your wine glass can impact how your wine tastes – but it does! Not only that, but how much sexier does a nice glass make you feel? It makes me feel pretty darn good!
Which is why I am super glad to see UnWined now offer general entry for the normal tasting glass, but also they have a Plumm glass ticket for $37.50 (only $7.50 more than your regular glass ticket – well worth it my friends). Also this type of ticket can only be pre-purchased by the way!
The VIP Club Lounge
Oh la la, who wants to be VIP at a wine festival? Me, me, me! The exclusive Club Lounge Ticket gives you access to the lounge which is on a terrace overlooking the event. The Club Lounge has an exclusive undercover area, tables, seating and there’ll be only 100 tickets sold for the lounge each day!
But that’s not all, the Club Lounge Ticket also includes:
- A premium Plumm wine glass to use on the day and take home
- 2 glasses of wine from the Club Lounge Bar (wines on offer include Sittella Sparkling Chenin, Talisman Riesling, Cowaramup Reserve 2014 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Cape Grace Rose, Talisman Malbec and Cape Grace Cabernet Shiraz)
- Gourmet BBQ during the afternoon (the menu includes the likes of pork and vegetarian brioche sliders, smoked beef brisket, soba noodles, barbecued kebabs and skewers with a choice of breads, salads and cheese platters!)
- Plus all the inclusions of the standard ticket – free wine tastings, live music and access to the Food &Wine Theatres.
It sounds pretty good to me, so if you’re looking to indulge more than usual, this is the ticket for you! You can only pre purchase Club Lounge Tickets at $127.50.
New Street Food Vendors
If you’re like me, then you’re lining up at the gate before the festival even starts! When we go to UnWined we are typically there the whole day and the day really isn’t complete without a bite to eat (or three – I always want to try everything!). Not to mention it’s very responsible to eat while drinking alcoholic beverages 😉
This year the UnWined organisers have put together a line-up of varying food styles and cuisines – and I am already drooling!
One of the new vendors in 2016 will be Twin Beaks whose speciality is confit duck burgers – a Great Southern Riesling or Pinot Noir would be a fab match for this tasty treat!
Alongside Twin Beaks there’ll be Braised Bros, Coco Lycious, Ole Paella, Print Hall, Saigon Eats, Shak Shuka, Tapas Man, The Honey Cake, and Two Queens Woodfired Street Food treating you with their delectable bites to eat.
