Millon Wines Clare’s Secret 2017 Grenache
Who loves Grenache? It matches very well with a hot bubbly bath after work on a Monday IMO 😉
This red grape variety originates from Spain where it’s called Garnacha. It thrives in warm-hot wine regions and is probably more commonly used in blends like the famous GSM blend. It is used in a blend to add colour and aromatics.
This bottle of Clare’s Secret 2017 Grenache was made by Millon Wines in the Clare Valley and I was recently sent a sample to taste. It retails for $18.
On the nose I found it full of sweet candied strawberries and raspberries with a nice pinch of spice. In the mouth it’s smooth and flavoursome with sweet red fruits, especially cherries and a lovely pinch of baking spice. Spicy and fruity!
