James Estate Verdelho 2017 Upper Hunter Valley

I have to admit, I love Verdelho! But I haven’t had much of it as late since leaving Perth’s Swan Valley (obviously this needs to be rectified stat).

Between the SV and Hunter Valley, these two regions know how to kick butt at making Verdelho.

I received this newly released 2017 Verdelho sample from James Estate recently and couldn’t wait to get stuck in. I teamed it with some perfectly cooked salmon. I’m a total salmon fiend if you haven’t already guessed!

In the glass, it’s a crisp silver lemon colour with a vibrant nose of citrus, floral perfumes and a hint of honeyed mint. In the mouth, it’s juicy and fresh with a bit of vegetal/herby-ness to it and a mouthwatering candied citrus character. Divine!
