James Estate Reserve The Marque 2017

Wine Wednesday calls for Mimco glitter and this divine specimen from James Estate in the Hunter Valley. Thanks guys for sending this #sample over.

‘The Marque’ 2017 is from James Estate’s single vineyard series which is pretty exceptional if I do say so myself. And this red literally ‘knocked my bottle over’. If you know what I mean 😉

It’s a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet France and Merlot. Which is inspired by Bordeaux wine.

In the glass it’s a brilliant purple-red shade. On the nose there’s plentiful blackcurrants and a whiff of raspberries with hints of fresh hay and vanilla tobacco. While in the mouth there’s upfront silky tannins with juicy blueberry and dark berry notes with some of that tobacco coming through. A very interesting and delicious wine.
