Heirloom Vineyards Tempranillo 2019
I love a good bbq feast and one of my favourite red wines to match with barbecued food is Tempranillo.
A big thank you to Heirloom Vineyards for this sample of their 2019 Adelaide Hills Tempranillo. We popped it in the decanter to further open up and soften.
I made some cheesy, garlic cauliflower patties to go with our steak on the bbq – they were so incredibly good! Here’s a bit more about this Temp:
- It’s vegan friendly
- It spends 9 months in French oak barriques
- It’s won numerous gold medal awards at various wine shows such as at the Adelaide Hills Wine Show 2020
We found it a deep silky red shade in the glass. On the nose it is full of spice, juicy berries, a hint of choc mint and some savoury charcuterie. In the mouth it’s jam-packed full of flavour which covers ever millimetre of your mouth. It’s wonderfully balanced with smooth acidity and plentiful cherry and plum fruits. You won’t forget it in a hurry due to its long lingering finish.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
