Framingham F-Series 2017 Sauvignon Blanc
The first Friday of May every year is International Sauvignon Blanc Day. In 2019 I teamed up with NZ Wine to celebrate who kindly sent me this wonderful bottle of Framingham F-Series 2017 Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand to enjoy on the day.
The F-Series from Framingham Wines is a limited edition range which is all about experimenting.
With total freedom to create alternative takes on the classic varietals, we can capture the unique nature of a vintage and allow for constant innovation.”?
This Sauv is bunch presses with no juice clarification and fermented with uninoculated yeasts that are left lee’s for 11 months before bottling. It retails for $29.
Trust me when I say, this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is like no other Kiwi Sauvy you’ve had before. It’s incredibly unique and completely challenges your senses. Here are the notes I wrote down as I tried to understand this very complex Sauv Blanc:
It’s a pale golden yellow colour in the glass. The nose has that typical herbaceous Sauv nose, intertwined with mellow florals and guava. In the mouth, it’s full of juicy sweet apples, candied limes, and a subtle minerality to dry off the finish.
It’s New Zealand Sauv Blanc like you don’t know it!
Please note: All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
This bottle was sent to me as a sample direct from NZ Wine Australia.
