A litre of wine everyday for 90 days..
…well i must admit that does sound very tempting – though i cant see it being very good for my liver or possibly helping me get out of bed in the mornings. However if your standing around on a farm all day hanging with your mates in the fresh air, why not?
If you’re a cow on Janice Ravndahls farm in British Columbia in Canada your one of the lucky ones to enjoy a litre of red Okanagan wine everyday for 90 days! Though unfortunately after these 90 days you are soon to be known as Sezmu Meats (Sezmu is the Egyptian god of wine).
Apparently the mixture of free-range non-medicated, hormone-free Angus cow and red wine results in some of the tastiest beef many of the local chefs have ever tried. Coming pre-marinated and already with its perfect wine pairing – heck why not!
And for those who lean towards the vegetarian side of life due to the horrible slaughter of animals for the benefit of taste buds, all i can say is at least these cows are living in luxury for 90 days! Ravndahl has noted the cows are more relaxed after their daily feed or slurp out of the trough and they are mooing to each other more – so im not the only one who gets a little chatty after a few glasses!
Perhaps this is what they are up to in NZ with that $9 million government-funded research for Sauvignon Blanc – farmers are opening all you can drink Sauvy B bars for their chickens!
