If you haven’t come across Myattsfield Vineyards in the Perth Hills yet, you’re missing out! I picked up this 2015 Semillon on a visit to the cellar door as I couldn’t get enough of it. I would have loved to have held onto this bottle for a few more years, but alas I’m impatient!
The grapes were sourced from 3 different vineyards in the Perth Hills for this wine. One of those vineyards was planted back in the excellent year of 1986. This wine has seen time in oak alongside having had a bit of lees stirring action. These winemaking techniques help with the aromatics and texture of the wine. Right now the wine is super fresh but if you can hold onto it for a few more years it’ll become nice and toasty & rich.
My tasting note: It’s a pale yellow colour in the glass. Hints of lanolin, floral grassiness, gooseberry and lime skin citrus rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s creamy with bright acidity. It’s a dry, crisp and incredibly refreshing wine.\
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine

There is nothing like a 5km walk to get your taste buds pumping for a wine tasting. Recently I stayed at the Perugia Farmhouse and as part of their ‘activities board’ they mentioned a wine tasting at a local winery just up the road from them for 10€ per person, so I thought why not….
This was the bottle I’ve been waiting so patiently to crack over the last few months. Mr Spittoon and I came across this Krug 2004 after my 12 week ultrasound – once we found out our baby boy was healthy and growing well. We wanted to buy something special to celebrate and to drink once our baby…

It could definitely be the cooler weather, however it’s safe to say since having our bub that I’ve definitely reached for a glass of red over white. It’ll be interesting if that continues to happen! Did your tastes change after having a bub? One of my recent tipples was this Bailey Wine Co 2018 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon…
