Trandos Estate ‘Little Black Dog’ 2013 Sparkling Chenin Blanc

I was very excited to get my hands on this little baby as it’s a brand new label for the Swan Valley. Trandos Estate are in the process of launching their online store where you can purchase their wines until they open a cellar door over the next year or so. Their sparkling Chenin Blanc will retail at $20 which is an absolute bargain for a cracker (yes totally a Christmas pun intended there!) of a bubbles!

Wine Tasting Note

Let’s just say, I can’t wait for their online store to open. I LOVED this bubbles. On the eye it is a pretty straw colour with a shimmer of lime and a lovely constant stream of bubbles. On the nose it is so fresh and vibrant with aromas of cut grass, oregano and a mixture of citrus fruits. On the palate it has that perfect balance of acidity and fruit sweetness. An oomph of flavour yet has a royal like elegance to it. Fist in a velvet glove if you will! Lovely fruit bomb flavours on the palate of peach, orange and lemon & lime. This is the kind of bubbles you buy by the case load and always have a chilled bottle in the fridge of, perfect to crack into for those unexpected guests over the festive season!

About Trandos Estate

The Trandos family history of winemaking began in the rich soils of Pozdivishte in Macedonia by Naum Trandos who had his trusty best friend by his side, ‘the little black dog’ who was not only a winery dog, but soon became a symbol for the wine and widely recognised in the town. The cheeky dog brought a smile to everyone’s face!

The long history of winemaking and traditions have been passed down the generations and have now found their way to the beautiful Swan Valley.

This boutique winery in the Swan Valley has  been making wine locally since 2011 and have just received their producers license so that they can officially sell and produce wine for the public, wohooo! They’re hoping the tradition of the little black dog bringing a smile to everyone’s face will continue here in Australia.
