The party of the year in the Swan Valley with Chef George Calombaris – Entwined in the Valley!
It’s about time the Swan Valley stole the show!
On Saturday August 30th from 7pm till 12 midnight the magnificent Entwined in the Valley Degustation will be held. This 7-course food & wine extravaganza will not only stun the senses but it’ll showcase some of WA’s and Australia’s finest chefs. It’s one of those events that you simply cannot miss (I’ll be there with bells on!). The degustation will take place at the new permanent marquee at Houghton’s Winery in Middle Swan (can’t wait to see this!).
The event is the perfect way to celebrate the Swan Valley earning the title of Australia’s first Humane Food Region alongside the chance to showcase the winning wines from the 2014 Singapore Airlines Swan Valley Wine Show.
The award-winning Swan Valley wines will no doubt be perfectly matched to the food seeing as they have international wine writer Ch’ng Poh Tiong playing the role of Sommelier for the night. Ch’ng is a columnist for the legendary UK wine publication Decanter. He is also a Regional Chair for the Decanter World Wine Awards. Fancy smancy!
And foodies, Chef George Calombaris (you’ll know him from his role as a judge on MasterChef Australia and from is flagship restaurant, The Press Club in Melbourne) and the Swan Valley’s own Kiren Mainwairing (from Co-op Dining in East Perth and previously Dear Friends restaurant in Caversham) are collaborating on the menu. Which I am sure will be amazing!
It’s promised to be a fabulous night which will show off the finest produce and wines from the Swan Valley with a few big names chucked in the mix. The MC for the night will be Anna Gare, passionate cook and television foodie personality.
I couldn’t think of a more glamourous night in the Swan Valley. And it’s the perfect year for it with the Swan Valley celebrating 180 years of winemaking this year. I have been lucky enough to be invited to the event by the lovely team at The City of Swan (thank-you). We are purchasing a ticket for Mr. Spittoon, as a girl’s got to have a date to the ball doesn’t she 😉
Tickets to this lavish event cost $220. Seats are limited, so if you’re keen, make sure you purchase your ticket through Ticketmaster soon.
