Entwined in the Valley 2016 – The Weekend Lineup for Wine Lovers
It’s that time again folks! Entwined in the Valley is coming to the Swan Valley November 4th-6th 2016 hosted by the City of Swan. The weekend is a celebration of local food and wine. And I must say, the line-up for the weekend is looking pretty tasty! This week I headed along to the media launch where I found out the esteemed head lining chef for the event is Anna Polyvious – the ‘Punk Princess of Pastry’. So all you sweet tooths will definitely be in foodie heaven – match that with a Swan Valley wine and you’re set! So what’s happening over the weekend? Read on winos…
The weekend line-up looks good, there are plenty of tasty events for us wine lovers, including:
A Sparkling Evening at Harris Organic Wines
When: Friday 4th November 5-7pm
What a great way to start the weekend! You’ll join winemaker and owner, Duncan Harris to learn a bit more about that bubbly beverage we all love – sparkling wine. You’ll experience the hand disgorging process alongside trying the sparkling wine before and after dosage.
Tickets are $20 per person which includes a few glasses of bubbles, nibbles and insider knowledge on how sparkling wine is made.
Shanks and Shiraz at Lancaster Wines
When: Friday 4th November 6-9pm
Slow cooked lamb shanks and red wine – swoooon! Such a tasty combo especially when it’s teamed with a stunning location in the Swan Valley complete with music.
Tickets are $35 per person which includes entry, food and music. Wine can be purchased direct from the cellar door.
Chocolate & Wine Tasting Class at Providore
When: Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th November 11:30am
This is an awesome wine & chocolate masterclass which I did a couple of years ago now. You’ll sip on some of the tasty tipples from the Coward & black wine range, alongside chocolate liqueurs all matched with delicious choccies from The Margaret River Chocolate Company.
Tickets are $30 per person however that includes taking a bottle of your favourite chocolate liqueur home valued at $24.95!
Seafood & Sparkling at Sittella Wines
When: Saturday 5th November 11:30am – 2:30pm
Is there anything better than 3 hours devoted to sparkling wine and seafood? This event is held at the brand new The Nest Food & Wine Bar on the Sittella property. You’ll enjoy sipping on the range of sparkling wines Sittella have available alongside nibbling on delightful seafood canapes.
Tickets are $95 per person.
Lamont’s Spring Fest
When: Saturday 5th November 12 – 4pm
Wine, food and live music in the Spring sunshine in the Valley – what’s not to like about an afternoon like that? I’m a big fan of Lamont’s so there’s no doubt this will be a ripper of an event to attend.
Tickets are $60 per person which includes a gourmet BBQ, live music and a glass of Lamont’s ‘Fighting Range’ of wines.
Jazz at RiverBank Estate
When: Saturday 5th November from 12pm
Lunch at RiverBank is a must when in the Valley, I have never been disappointed with a meal there! Team the amazing food and wine with the gorgeous singing by Cathrine Summers and you have the perfect date (hint hint Mr. Spittoon)! Jazz & lunch at RiverBank needs to be on your Swan Valley bucket list.
Gourmet Jazz Platters and a bottle of wine will be $120 or choose a gourmet three-course meal for $90 per person.
Unwined at The Cheese Barrel
When: Saturday 5th November 6 – 8pm
‘Wine, live music and abundant cheese’ – ooo that gets me excited! Put wine and cheese in a sentence together and you have my attention! This sounds like the ultimate event to ‘unwined’ after a long week at work.
Tickets are $50 per person and includes all the above.
Entwined Degustation Dinner
When: Sunday 6th November 5 – 10pm
The main event of the show! The Entwined Degustation is never short of amazing (check out my pics from the 2014 Entwined Degustation) and this year the chef line-up is pretty darn amazing! As mentioned, Anna Polyviou will be in the kitchen alongside top WA chefs; Kiren Mainwaring (Co-Op Dining), Hadleigh Troy (Restaurant Amuse) and Michael Hartnell (Mandoon Estate).
The wine talent on the night is Ray Jordan who will be picking the wine matches for the dishes – rumour has it some of the 2016 Swan Valley Wine Show award-winning wines will be used.
Tickets for the event are $250 per person and includes the 7-course degustation with matching wines at Mandoon Estate.
Alongside the above, the foodies will love Anna’s Mess Masterclass, Asparagus Masterclass (check out what I thought of Edgecombe’s Asparagus Masterclass) and a number of wine, food & music events throughout the Valley. You can view the full Entwined line-up here and grab tickets to the above events. Enjoy winos!
