The 25 Swan Valley Sparkling Wines of Christmas 2014 – 6th December
Chapel Farm Sparkling Rose
Technically Chapel Farm are not a winery however they do have an awesome restaurant on site (The Tap) which has the most amazing 6-page drinks menu! Naturally they love their wines from the Swan Valley so they do have wines produced for them by some of their neighbouring wineries.
This particular sparkling rose is produced by Garbin Estate who are just up the road from Chapel Farm. The Rose is made from the Shiraz grape variety and sells for $27 at The Tap per bottle or $9 a glass to enjoy with your tapas or pizza (the pizza is truly delicious here and absolutely huge!). Also for a great quality, boutique wine, $27 is a fantastic restaurant bottle price!
Tasting Note
On the eye it’s fairly deep red colour, very vibrant and inviting. It actually makes me think about those red Christmas flowers. On the nose it is full of fresh juicy black cherries, blueberries, bramble fruits and a touch of black pepper and baking spice. Those berry flavours flood through to the palate with a touch of anise wheels, which reminded me of when I was a kid! A lovely, full sparkling rose which I think would go quite well with some glazed ham on Christmas day!

About Chapel Farm
The Chapel Farm property has quite a history dating back about 100 years when an Irish family first called it home and named it Chapel Farm. In 2000 Darren Walker took over the property and turned it into a one-of-a-kind venue in the Swan Valley.
Chapel Farm are well-known for putting on amazing events and weddings in the Swan Valley. But they also have some fantastic accommodation options and my favourite of course is the wine, beer and cocktail bar, The Tap. I love heading out to the The Tap for a meal and a few drinks as the service is always top-notch, the food and drinks are absolutely mouth-watering and I just love the quirky interior and exterior design. Plus the ultra sexy toilets which are actually built inside a water tank are just AWESOME!
