Young & Co Berry Riot French Grenache
This is how we celebrated Grenache Day 2019! Alongside some homemade pizza (potato, red onion and chilli and a bacon & pineapple one – yes we’re team pineapple on pizza).
We received this sample bottle during the week especially for Grenache Day.
“A tantalising taste experience awaits. Berry Riot from Young & Co is a Grenache bursting with style and sass, as one would expect from the French”.
It weights in at 14% abv so it’s not shy. It’s available at BWS for $25.
Here are our notes:
It’s a garnet shade in the glass. Notes of raspberry jam and baking spice rise from the glass. In fact it made me think of the German Biscuits my family make at Christmas time which are two allspice flavoured cookies with jam in the middle. While in the mouth those red berry flavours flow through with a very light tannin structure. It’s juicy with fresh acidity and the 14% abv is very well disguised – so be careful with this one 😉
This wine was given to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
