Windfall 2019 Single-Handed Chardonnay
I love the story of Windfall Estate & their Single-Handed range.
Have you heard it?
Ivor Williams lost a hand while being a member of the Home Guard in WWll. From this unfortunate event he created opportunity and used the compensation money to buy land in the Geographe Wine Region in Western Australia. It is that land that Ivor’s granddaughter and her husband planted the Windfall vineyard in 1996.
A big thanks to Julie & Phil Hutton for sharing this sample of their 2019 Single-Handed Chardonnay with us, it went down an absolute treat right from it’s gorgeous golden sunshine sheen in the glass.
It has brilliant fresh notes of nectarine, peach and refreshing citrus on the nose followed by a super elegant palate. Think dainty flavours of vanilla bean and peach, and a nice lick of lemony nuts on the finish.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
