‘Tash’ by Natasha Mooney 2018 Sauvignon Blanc – Adelaide Hills
Sauvignon Blanc, yay or nay? I find people have very strong opinions about wines made from Sauvignon Blanc.
Personally I enjoy a glass of Sauvy B, for me it makes me think of the beach and seafood. I also love the diversity you can find, for instance Aussie Sauv can be so different from New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and these days you can find winemakers oaking it and doing all sorts of things to it to create their own expression of it.
This example is a recent sample I received from the team at Cellarmasters. ‘Tash’ by Natasha Mooney 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is from South Australia’s Adelaide Hills region. It’s made exclusively for Cellarmasters, so you won’t find it anywhere else.
Tash has worked throughout the wine world, having been mentored by the likes of Philip Shaw (ex-Rosemount), and Wayne Falkenberg (Lindemans). She has produced numerous award-winning wines and she also runs La Bise Wines and creates wines for Naked Wines.
Here’s what we thought of this South Aussie Sauvy B:
- On the eyes: Yellow diamond
- On the nose: Bread and butter pudding, minerals, exotic fruit
- In the mouth: Passionfruit, fruit sweetness in the front, nice citrus acidity in finish. Nice and easy drinking
This wine was sent to me direct from Cellarmasters as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
