Do you know what GSM stands for on a wine label?
It stands for the 3 grape varieties blended to make the wine. Which are: Grenache, Shiraz (Syrah) and Mataro (Mourvèdre).
The GSM blend was made famous by the Côtes du Rhône region of France. In Australia, GSMs are very popular. And fun fact, when a wine is made from a variety of grapes they are listed in order of proportion on the label. So in a GSM, Grenache should make up the biggest proportion of the blend.
