Georgie Orbach Wines ‘Cab Sav’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 & 2019
Georgie Orbach 2019 ‘Cab Sav’
Thank you Georgie Orbach Wines for sending us this sample bottle of your newly released 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon to taste. We enjoyed it with a laidback weeknight dinner (it matched well with both our bbq and chocolate mousse dessert) and it was the perfect easy-drinking red to finish off a busy day.
Georgie Orbach is a winemaker who loves her 80s pop rock and matches all her wines to a tune. This Cab Sav is matched to You Shook Me All Night Long – AC/DC!
My tasting experience:
In the glass it’s a pretty ruby red shade. Juicy cherries and cassis with a slightly smokey undertone and hints of leather and tobacco come through on the nose. It’s easy drinking, smooth and juicy with subtle tannins and a finish that leaves you wanting more – which can be dangerous on a weeknight, trust me.

Yep. I’m a bit of a Winosaur.
A massive thank you to Georgie Orbach Wines for gifting us this sample bottle of her 2017 Riverina Cab Sav. I’ve actually had this for a couple of years now as some family friends were looking after it in their cellar for us and we’ve only just raided their cellar to claim our stash of wines back.
Georgie’s wines are made for drinking now, not necessarily storing. However saying that, this one went down beautifully! We’d had a long Monday and had just been given some fresh homemade bread, so we ended up eating bread and butter with it. It was heaven. Yes my young friends, this is what life’s like in your mid-30s.
In the glass it’s a plum red colour. Notes of black and red currants, baked plums and spice with a hint of savouriness come through on the nose. While in the mouth it’s smooth, easy drinking, juicy and moreish. The bottle was gone so quickly, that we probably would have cracked a 2nd bottle if it wasn’t a school night.
