Curtis Family Wines 2019 Legion Shiraz
I hear it’s hot over in WA, but it’s definitely not here in Gippsland today with a high of 12 degrees.
Though it’s not all bad, as it simply means it’s red wine weather in my books 😉
I received this sample from Curtis Family Vineyards (thank you!) in South Australia. It’s a 2019 Shiraz from their ‘Legion’ series – wines made for everyday enjoyment. That retails for $25 and it’s safe to say I was feeling pretty warm after a couple of glasses.
Here are our notes:
It’s a lovely deep garnet colour in the glass. On the nose it’s a bit farmy and rustic (think mushrooms, olives and pepper) yet there’s a delicious berry jam and hint of chocolate coming through too. In the mouth there’s a hint of tobacco mixed with vanilla and pomegranate with a lovely dry finish.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.
