Babo Prosecco Of Pordenone, Friuli Italy
Prosecco made me do it. This Babo Prosecco from Italy was a lovely sample bottle sent to me from Good Pair Days (thanks guys!).
BABO Wines was started in 2009 by Justin Bubb. After working for nearly a decade at Castello Di Gabbiano in Italy, he had a vision to produce ‘contemporary, great value, premium Italian wines’ for the Australian palate and market.
The wines from BABO are made from three key regions in Italy; Toscana (Tuscany), Delle Venezie and Sicilia (Sicily). BABO currently produce two Proseccos, a Pinot Grigio, a Rose (Rosata), a Sangiobvese, a Nero D’Avola DOC and a Chianti DOC.
The name “BABO” is an Italian nickname for a winemaking tool that measures ‘baume’ in fruit. BABO Wines are stocked at Dan Murphys.
