Millon Estate The Royal 2016 Shiraz
I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but winter definitely feels like it’s on the way here. And you know what’s the best thing to cure the winter blues?
Red wine of course!
I recently cracked into this sample of Millon Wines ‘The Royal’ 2016 Shiraz from the Barossa Valley and it’s safe to say it warmed me up!
In the glass, it’s a deep ruby colour. To me, on the nose it’s rather herby and earthy, think blackberries and mushrooms with a spicy edge. In the mouth, it has a bit of tartness yet plentiful refreshing fruits followed by a savoury earthy finish. Great depth of flavour and oomph!
$45 a bottle and a grand accompaniment to a hearty red meat dish.
