Say Bonjour to Vintrepid’s French Wine Subscription
Do you love French wine and want to explore more of what France has to offer your palate? Well, boy do I have the French wine subscription for you!
I was kindly sent a couple of packs from the lovely folks at Vintrepid to try out as part of their Club Vintrepid Subscription. And let’s just say, I think it’s pretty ooh la la if I do say so myself. It really did have me reminiscing about my Loire Valley wine trip in 2023.
From the handwritten tasting notes, to the clearly handpicked and unique French wines (ones which you won’t see at your local retailer!) – this is a wine subscription which will have you swooning. And most likely wanting to buy a ticket to France ASAP.
PLUS! The Vintrepid family have kindly offered all TC readers 20% off their first purchase. Simply use the code TRAVELLING20 at checkout ??
So let’s take a closer look…
Who is Vintrepid?
Vintrepid is a Sydney-based importer and distributor of French wines here in Australia. They specialise in sourcing wines from passionate, small-production vignerons across France.
From what I know and understand about the folks from Vintrepid, I can tell you this:
- They prioritise finding exceptional wines from small producers who prioritise quality over quantity – most of the wines, especially in the Discovery Pack are made in tiny volumes. Think of it as quality exploration of French wine.
- Vintrepid imports wines directly from the producers, allowing them to offer us the consumer, competitive prices (pricing is 30% or more below regular retail prices)
- Being a wine importer foremost, it means it gives the chance for budding wine-enthusiasts (like you and me) the opportunity to drink what the top sommeliers are drinking, and at the same wholesale prices.
Essentially, Vintrepid acts as a bridge between passionate French winemakers and Australian wine enthusiasts.
What is the Club Vintrepid French wine subscription?
There are two subscription types offered by Vintrepid. Both are quarterly and you can cancel at anytime. Or you can also buy them as a one off purchase too. Let’s take a look at each:
French Discovery Pack
This quarterly French wine subscription is all about quality exploration of French wines.
- The selections will be seasonally focused from small producers, all made in tiny volumes
- $150 per quarter for 3 handpicked bottles
- The retail value of these packs are around $220 meaning you save over 30%
- You can also opt to ‘double-up’ and recieve 6 bottles instead of 3 which will save you another 10%
Here’s what I received in my first pack:
- Domaine des Sables Verts Saumur Blanc “Les Rouères” 2022
- Domaine Tupinier-Bautista Bourgogne Rouge Pinot Noir 2022
- Domaine de la Marinière L’Arbre Mort Chinon Roufe 2021
I cannot wait to try these! so stay tuned for my tasting notes.
French House Wine Pack
This quarterly 6 bottle French wine subscription pack is all about the wines the French enjoy on a regular basis.
- Wines which overdeliver for the price – affordable for everyday drinking but ones that will surely impress your palate and friends
- $150 per quarter for 6 hand selected bottles
- The retail value of these packs are around $220 meaning you save over 30%
Here’s what I recieved in my first pack:
- 3 x Domaine Coteaux des Margots Macon-Villages Chardonnay 2023
- 3 x Taparas Cotes-Du-Rhone Rouge 2022
I am super excited to get stuck into these two as well and I also love that I am going to have to pull my corkscrew out for these bottles as they are under cork rather than screw cap.
There is just something about pulling a cork out of a wine bottle that I just love. Perhaps that is me showing my age?
