Lot Twenty’s Winter Wine Series – Perth Wine Events
If you haven’t been to Lot Twenty in Northbridge yet, then I suggest you do (it’s run by the same guys as Five Bar in Mount Lawley)! These guys have a fab focus on great wines and cook up some pretty tasty tucker too. To help satisfy the wine lovers of Perth this winter, Lot Twenty will be holding a number of events as part of their ‘Winter Wine Series’.
Winter Wine Series (May – September 2017)
The Winter Wine Series kicked off a couple of weeks ago with the first event of the season ‘Chardonnay & Cheese’. The events focus on wines from the Great Southern wine region of WA – it’s a really good opportunity to get to know the Great Southern a bit more without the 5 hour car trip down there!
There were 4 producers involved at the Chardonnay & Cheese evening (Rockcliffe, 3 Drops, Singlefile and Howard Park) who were serving up tasters of their tipples from 6-9pm on the night. Tastings were free and you could show up on the night – no tickets needed.
Lot Twenty did encourage people to book so you could secure a table – especially if you wanted to eat. The cool thing about the events is that specific bites are created to match the wines. You can either buy a single bite for $8-$12 or a platter with all 3 on for $22.
The ‘All 3 Bites’ was a great snack for 2 people – and it was delicious!
I would definitely recommend checking out one or a few of these events during winter, there are some great ones coming up:
- Pinot & Pig (Thursday 1st June 2017)
- Cabernet & Charcuterie (Thursday 6th July 2017)
- Smoker & Shiraz (Thursday 3rd August 2017)
- Battle of the Wineries (Thursday 7th September 2017)
You can find out more and buy tickets via the Lot Twenty website or via their social media channels; Facebook & Instagram.
Plus while you’re there, make sure you try some of their Dutch Fries (Fries, Peanut Satay, Mayonnaise, Red Onion) for $13 – they’re so good!
Bottle Shop Mondays
While I have your attention, I also wanted to mention Lot Twenty’s Bottle Shop Mondays. This is from 6pm every Monday and you can order any wine off the menu at bottle shop prices and avoid that restaurant mark-up. You must order a main meal to get this deal but with the likes of crispy pork belly, honey roasted duck breast and slow cooked beef check vol au vent on the menu – I don’t think you’d not want to order a main meal!
