Support Charity, Drink Wine & Be Merry this Christmas with Goodwill Wines
David Laity lost his home and job to the Black Saturday Bushfires in 2009 in Victoria. He was lucky he didn’t lose his life, like 173 people sadly did on that fateful day. To get back on track, David received $15,000 from the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal after what is said to be one of Australia’s worst natural disasters. Overwhelmed by the support of the Australian community, David started an online wine shop with a social conscience – Goodwill Wine.
David went directly to Aussie vineyards to find small parcels of the best value, boutique wines in Australia. With a label printer donated by the Salvation Army and a website, David began selling wine online via Goodwill Wines
Goodwill Wines isn’t like any other online wine shop because at least 50% of their profit margin is passed on to the charity or non-profit organisation that the you choose. You can donate to any charity you wish. After starting the business 4 years ago, David has donated money from the wines sold to over 200 not-for-profit organisations, with a total of over $100,000 donated.
You can order the wines directly through the Goodwill Wine website with bottle prices starting from a mere $14 and 12-bottle cases from $168 + postage. You must purchase either by the 6 or 12 pack.
The wines on offer are constantly changing due to the limited quantities David can acquire of each. It is interesting to see at the moment he has a Vegan Wine Mixed Case and a Vegan Red Wine Mixed Case on offer!
You can also order lovely mixed 6 and 12 packs alongside Goodwill Wines Sparkling Wine through the Good Spender website.

Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is
Australia Post has launched an online shopping campaign this Christmas called ‘Put your money where you heart is‘. This campaign supports businesses like Goodwill Wine and encourages online shoppers to use their Christmas buying power to support over 300 Australian social enterprises, artisan producers, growers and farmers around Australia.
The Where Your Heart Is campaign brings together the social enterprise marketplace Good Spender with the popular online farmers’ market, Farmhouse Direct. By purchasing quality products and produce through these online marketplaces, you are directly helping local traders.
On Good Spender there is a wide range of awesome products to tempt your purse-strings from delicious foodie produce to arts & crafts, homewares, clothing, jewellery and services. Whilst on Farmhouse Direct you can order all kinds of tasty treats from pre-ordering your Christmas lunch supplies to 1kg Christmas puddings. I am now so starving after browsing the website, everything looks so good!
When you click-through to each product, on the product page it will tell you if that item can be shipped to your state, so just keep and eye on that one. Also bear in mind that the cut-off shipping date for the Where Your Heart Is campaign is 15th of December.
So what are you waiting for??? Put your money where you heart is right now!
Goodwill Wine Tasting Notes
I’d like to say a big thank-you to the team at GoodSpender.com.au for gifting me a bottle of the Goodwill White and Goodwill Red to taste, please find my tasting notes below for these ‘feel good’ wines!
Goodwill White – 2012 Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley
Golden lemon on the eye with a slight green tinge. Aromas of stonefruits, hay and lemon curd on the nose. While in the mouth it’s a super approachable Chardonnay with refreshing acidity. A great match to my super foods summer salad and crumbed fish on a lovely sunny day!
Goodwill Red 2010 Shiraz from the Coonawarra
Garnet on the eye with lifted aromas of cherries, raspberries and black currants – oh so fruity! On the palate it’s super juicy and fresh with a sprinkling of pepper spice. A lighter style Shiraz but incredibly delicious, the long lasting finish is like a blueberry muffin sprinkled with baking spices. Yum!
